ROG INTELLIGENT COOLING
To house such powerful components, Strix SCAR 18 and 16’s chassis and motherboard have been redesigned to fit the new full-width heatsink, while copper fins have been moved closer to the exhaust vents for more efficient cooling. This unique heatsink is made from three distinct sections that surround the motherboard with densely designed fins for a total surface area of 195,509 mm², 82.5% more than the 2022 Strix SCAR 17.
This design greatly increases overall cooling while maximizing the available path for hot air to move away from the machine. Thanks to this advanced cooling system, the points that the players touch the most are always cool, while providing maximum performance for long periods of time. Finally, most gaming laptops have a dual-fan cooling system, but the SCAR 18 and SCAR 16 have managed to push the performance limits even further with the introduction of a third fan that helps keep the GPU and VRAM cool.
