The Avengers arc, which ended with Endgame, continues to come to the fore with new statements. The directors of the series, the Russo brothers, recently shared that producer Jon Favreau was against Tony Stark’s death. An even more striking statement came from the Russo brothers today.
The brothers, who participated in the Happy Sad Confused podcast, shared that Marvel President Kevin Feige has a goal for Endgame that goes beyond just killing Iron Man. Saying that they turned down this offer of Feige, the Russo brothers announced that Feige’s offer was the murder of the original 6 heroes of the Avengers.
Not only Iron Man, but 6 main characters could be killed:
Talking about the war between Avengers and Thanos, Joe Russo explained that after Infinity War, he wanted fans to believe that any character could die at any moment. Russo shared in this regard that Feige’s proposal was to kill all the original Avengers members. Russo also explained why they rejected this offer as follows:
“Kevin actually came up with a proposal that eliminated all the OGs. We thought it was too aggressive and the audience just couldn’t detect it, and actually, choosing one or two characters to sacrifice throughout the movie can have moments throughout the movie where the action can stop and you can experience emotional cleansing and then continue the narrative and then add more emotional cleansing.”
The original Avengers six that Feige intends to kill include Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, Hulk and Hawkeye.
