In 2021, Alec Baldwin accidentally shot director of photography Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust. While Hutchins died after the accident, Baldwin, who was among the producers of the film, went to the deal with the family in response to the negligence accusations.

Baldwin, who said he wanted to clear his name, filed a lawsuit Friday against other people involved in the crash. The people who brought him a loaded gun and delivered it and did not provide the controls are the target of this case.

The charges were previously denied.

Baldwn was charged in his lawsuit against Hannah Guttierez-Reed, who was in charge of weapons, Sarah Zachry, chief equipment officer, David Halls, first assistant director and safety coordinator, ammunition supplier Seth Kenney, and Kenney’s company that supplied equipment to the set, PDQ Arm & Prop. All of these names have denied previous accusations.

Mexican authorities concluded that the incident was an accident. The producers were fined $137K for negligence. The film crew, on the other hand, decided to appeal against this sentence.

Baldwin became involved in the same lawsuit with Mamie Mitchell, who was the script supervisor of the film, with the decision of the lawsuit. Mitchell was standing right behind Hutchins at the time of the incident. We’ll see how the court decides.

While the producers said that the shooting of the film will start again in January 2023, Baldwin claims rights for the work he lost due to this incident, and for the financial and moral suffering he suffered.
