There were rumors that the second-generation AirPods Pro, which will be released this fall, will be equipped with a heart rate and body temperature sensor. However, according to Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman, the wireless earbuds will not offer any health monitoring features.
Gurman denied the information previously leaked online. He says he doesn’t expect heart rate monitoring or body temperature measurement functionality on the next-generation AirPods Pro. Both features have been explored by Apple, but are unlikely to be available this year, according to Gurman.
First AirPods Pro released in 2019
The Bloomberg editor is extremely confident that the AirPods Pro 2 will launch in 2022, as it’s been three years since the first AirPods Pro launched. According to Gurman, those who own the first generation headphones are quite ready to switch to the new model, as the battery life is now nearing the end.
