The first detail that draws attention in the images confirming the current leaks about AirPods Pro 2 is the speaker grille located under the case. In this way, the charging box, which is expected to be included in the “Find” network, will be easily found even if the headphones are not placed in the box. Because if the charging box is lost, it will be able to make a sound just like AirPods, thanks to the speaker on it. Thus, users can easily find the location of the charging box.
It seems that the charging case also houses a microphone hole along with the speaker grille. However, it is not clear what exactly the microphone will be used for. Estimates are that the microphone could be used for “Live Listening”, an accessibility feature that helps hard-of-hearing users hear ambient speech. So much so that the microphone in the box can take the ambient sound and send it to the AirPods Pro that someone is wearing, making it easier to hear the sound.
