Popular social media platform TikTok, which has recently competed with Spotify with its new music platform, has now brought a feature to compete with Twitter (with its new name X). The feature that the company introduced today allows users to share text-only posts, apart from photos and video.
TikTok announced that it has started making text-based posts available with a blog post it shared. Examining the screenshots, it was seen that the feature was visually similar to adding text to Instagram stories.
Up to 1000 characters of text can be shared, stickers and music can be added to the posts.
Users will be able to use the feature by selecting the text sharing option via the camera page. TikTok adds that text-based posts come with many extra features that users will like.
While sharing, it will be possible to choose the background color and appearance of the text, add music, sound, stickers, hashtags and tag someone. Of course, there is a character limit set for these posts. The company has set this limit as 1000 characters.
TikTok may want to rival Twitter with text posts. Recently, we have seen that applications such as the Threads application and Bluesky, which reached millions of users in a short time, became popular. All these events may be a harbinger of the decline in the dominance of Twitter, which has become Elon Musk’s toy, in the field of microblogging.
