According to the latest statement by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the company geared up to reach more users. Tesla is developing an affordable electric car that will “usually” run in autonomous mode and cost less than $30,000. The new model is thought to be called the Tesla Model 2.

The low-budget electric car, unofficially called the Tesla Model 2, will be the company’s most affordable model. Currently, the cheapest electric car, the Model 3, is priced at around $42,990. However, the Model 2 is expected to be both smaller in size and cheaper.
Elon Musk did not share details for the mini electric vehicle. However, industry experts think the Model 2 will have a 25 percent smaller battery and a 15 percent smaller body than the Model 3. It is also estimated to be 30 percent lighter than the Model 3.
In addition to the small size of the Model 2, it is expected to make users smile about the price. Initial allegations suggest that the company plans to offer the car with a tag of like $30,000.
But this isn’t the first time Tesla has worked on an affordable electric car. In 2020, Musk said that Tesla is working on a fully autonomous model that is more affordable than $25,000. We can say that the company has been working on the same model for three years.
