Aiming to prioritize the user experience, Apple plans to offer search -based sponsored content instead of traditional banner ads. This approach is an extension of the advertising model that is already successfully implemented in the App Store. For example, a restaurant chain will be able to pay to appear in the top when users call specific food categories.
Looking at the history of Apple’s move, it is seen that the company made a similar initiative in 2022, but decided not to advance the project at that time. Today, the technology giant reassesses this idea in changing market conditions and increasing competitive environment. However, since an active engineering work has not been initiated yet, it may take some time to use the feature.
