Until now, users have avoided sending high-quality images via WhatsApp because the resolution of the photos is not preserved. Because it was exposed to high compression, quality loss occurred in the pictures. This will no longer be the case.
Standard and HD quality options
The messaging platform has started testing a feature that makes it possible to share HD photos while preserving their size. The new function allows you to choose the resolution of the image before sending it. There are two options: Standard quality (1600 x 1052 pixels) and HD quality (4096 x 2692 pixels).
The new feature is currently available in beta versions of WhatsApp for Android and iOS 2.23.12.13 and 23.11.0.76 respectively. It is not yet known when the high-resolution image sending feature will be made available to the general public.
