Search giant Google has added an option to split the keyboard into two in the latest beta version of the Gboard app, numbered 11.9.04. The split keyboard mode, which is stated to be developed for foldable devices and tablets, aims to facilitate typing.
You can activate the split keyboard in Gboard by tapping the corresponding icon in the toolbar at the top. After that, the keyboard is divided into two, half of the keys are shifted to the left of the screen and the other half to the right. So it becomes more comfortable and ergonomic.
Improves the typing experience
The split-keyboard mode improves the typing experience as the keys are closer to the thumb reach. The new feature is currently only available for foldable devices. However, it is expected to be available for tablets in the future.
