Activison Steals Indie Costume Design for Call of Duty

The giant game company Activision Blizzard, against which many lawsuits have been filed for allegedly harassing and discriminating against female employees, has signed yet another scandalous move. This time, the scandal covers Call of Duty Vanguard, one of the company’s latest Call of Duty games.

Allegedly, Activision Blizzard copied the Samoye costume of the Floof Fury costume series for Call of Duty Vanguard, from the design of an independent artist. The scandal came to light after the creator of the original design shared the situation on Twitter and Reddit.

Activision has officially made the costume one-of-a-kind

The user named ‘saillin’, the original designer of the Samoye costume, expressed his concern about the situation on Reddit and Twitter. You can see the similarities between the indie artist’s design and Activision Blizzard’s Samoye costume in the image above. In his post on the subject, the artist says:

“Hi everyone, I’m saillin. I own the original design of the Samoyed skin, which is new to CoD Vanguard. I realized with this costume announcement that my work was stolen. Even though I am a CoD player, I was very disappointed that a giant company like Activision stole my work.

I have reached out to Activision and am awaiting an explanation or compensation. There is very little I can do as an individual artist, but I know I have to speak up so that this kind of thing doesn’t happen again in the future.”

Although the artist raises his voice and seeks his rights, it should not be forgotten that a giant company like Activision has million-dollar lawyers. What are you thinking? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
