At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Activision released gameplay footage of the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and introduced the campaign mode, which showcases the open-ended nature of the game’s missions as well as the cinematic.

The age-restricted trailer features a night attack team mission called “Operation 627”. Alpha Team engages in close combat using night vision goggles after sneaking into an abandoned fort on the coast of the Kostovian Sea.

After the team progresses through dark corridors and underground passages, they reach their destination, the Zordaya Prison Complex. Activision ended the gameplay trailer before the full mission was revealed.

In addition to the scenario mode, Activision also talked about the multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare 3 and said that the open beta will start on October 6. The open beta will include a graphically overhauled version of the 16 original maps from Modern Warfare 2, which was released in 2009. The publisher plans to reveal more at its Call of Duty Next event on October 5.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be available for PC (Steam and Battle.net), PS4 and PS5, and Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S on November 10.
