The waters on the Activision front do not seem to have calmed down. The studio, whose agenda changed after it was acquired by Xbox, wants to get rid of internal confusion. However, this is not the case for employees. Because many people within the company are demanding that the punishment for the incidents be cut.
Making statements on the subject, ABK Workers’ Alliance stated that there was no change in their vision. The community demands better conditions for everyone.
Activision Blizzard employees to continue on strike
ABK Workers’ Alliance, which made statements on Twitter, demands punishment for what happened inside the company. The harassment and assault allegations that shook the gaming world had sued the company and had a great impact. Activision and Blizzard, which suffered material and moral damage, are now waiting for the outcome of the process. However, the ABK Workers’ Alliance is demanding some moves within the company as well.
The community, who found Microsoft’s acquisition completely surprising, announced that their actions will continue. The group definitely wants CEO Bobby Kotick to step down:
While the news that Activision has been acquired by Microsoft is surprising, it does not change the goals of the ABK Workers Alliance. Regardless of who has financial control of the company, we are committed to fighting for workplace improvements and the rights of our employees. Together with our allies in the gaming industry, we will continue to work towards measurable change in an industry that desperately needs it. To protect abusers, we called for Bobby Kotick to step down as CEO in November, and he remains CEO as of this writing.
The Raven QA strike is in its fifth week and our strike squad still has not received a response from the management regarding our request for negotiation. And finally, 4 of our original collective requests to improve the conditions of women in our workforce were not met. Whatever the leadership structure of the company, we will continue our push to end harassment and appreciate the overflow of support we experienced over the past year.
There has been no response to this statement made by the community yet. However, it is claimed that Microsoft will make major changes in the executive staff on the Activision Blizzard front.
So what do you guys think about this? Do you think ABK Workers Alliance will be able to get what it wants within Activision? Do not forget to share your views with us.
