Recently, a 19-year-old medical student, Enes Kara, had committed suicide by explaining that he was staying in the community dormitory where his family was forced to stay, that he did not feel free here and that he lost all his joy of life as all the problems came together. After Enes Kara’s statements, community dormitories became a topic of discussion throughout the country.
The other day, at the request of Enes Kara’s father, Mehmet Kara, access to news on Enes Kara’s death on many news sites was blocked. Today, a decision has been made about the video shared by Enes Kara. In the statement made on the website of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, it has been announced that it has been decided to block the posts containing the video that Kara took before her death. The explanation was as follows:
“Sharing such content harms the psychological development of children”
“According to the legal legislation, it has been requested from the Ankara 8th Criminal Court of Peace to remove the posts containing the video in question, which may harm the mental health of children, lead them to violence and suicide, and encourage suicide, and prevent access. Our request was accepted by the court.
Sharing such content in channels that are accessible to children of all ages harms the healthy psychological development of children. As the Ministry of Family and Social Services, we are determined to fulfill our duty and responsibility to protect our children from all kinds of dangerous content. We invite all the public to act sensitively at this point. ”
