Leading DeFi platform Aave is launching the web 3.0 social media platform Lens.
Aave founder Stani Kulichov made an announcement on his official Twitter account on Monday. In the announcement, it introduced Lens, an “open, composable [Web 3] social media protocol that allows anyone to create an unsupervised social media profile and create new social media apps.”
Interoperability and composability stand out as key features for the protocol. According to the information on the website, the protocol will allow users to create NFT-based profiles that can store posts, posts and follower history. It will also have revenue sharing features for content hosted on IPFS and built-in management for mutual follower groups. The protocol was recently built on Polygon, a huge investment of 450 million.
