Although there are still discussions about whether Metaverse is something ridiculous or not, scandalous news about it has not ceased since Metaverse has been so included in the agenda. Just last month, a woman said she was virtually harassed while working as a beta tester for Horizon Worlds, developed for Microsoft Windows and Oculus Quest systems.
Now we are faced with a similar situation. A 43-year-old British woman named Nina Jane Patel said she was verbally abused by three men in the metaverse earlier this month. Let’s take a look at the details of the event.
She was harassed from the minute she entered the Metaverse.
Nina works as the vice president of a company dealing with the metaverse and enters Meta’s Horizon Venues Metaverse universe to do research. From the moment she enters, the woman is sexually harassed by the three men on the platform.
Nina, who cut off her connection immediately after the ugly behavior of the three men who touched Nina inappropriately, made sexual remarks and took a screenshot of the woman, states that she has been experiencing anxiety ever since.
Speaking on the subject and signaling that they will be looking for solutions for such situations, the Meta spokesperson said in his statement: We are sorry to hear that this has happened, we want everyone at Horizon Venues to have a positive experience and to be able to easily find help tools that they can reach in such situations. So that we can investigate the situation and take action as necessary.
