German crypto site BTC-ECHO stated that a new version of MiCA legislation has completely deleted controversial phrases that would ban cryptos like Bitcoin (BTC) based on Proof-of-Work.

EU Parliament proposed new bill last week to ban crypto services using proof-of-work. The bill meant a ban on Bitcoin. However, the reaction of this proposal caused the parliamentary vote to be extended indefinitely. “It is very important to me that the MiCA report is not interpreted as a de facto ban on bitcoin,” said Stefan Berger, Member of the European Parliament.

Berger told BTC-ECHO today that the proposal banning proof-of-work has been removed. Berger emphasized that the talks on the subject will be held again, but that no date has been determined so far.
