While the TV series industry in our country progresses uniformly according to some, it reveals its development with different productions according to others. Although we cannot say that we see a variety in television series for now, it would be wrong to say that different varieties have never been tried. Because in such mediums, the audience is mostly acted according to their taste.
However, sometimes producers can go beyond this routine and present productions with different tastes. The Uysallar series, a Netflix production that will be released soon, seems to be a series created with exactly this motivation. The special screening of the said series was held at Atlas Cinema four days before its release and we also attended. Now let’s take a look at what you can expect from the series.
We watched the first episode with the actors [No spoilers]
Netflix team, guests, İKSV officials and actors attended the special screening of the series. Welcoming the guests with the bar atmosphere that we see in the trailer, the team then took the guests to the movie theater to show the first episode.
Speaking for the first episode, we see that the series does not start the whole story all over again. Instead, we enter from the middle of the events and solve the events together with our main character, Oktay Uysal, who is actually an architect but has started to turn into a punk character. The harmony of the actors selected from the first episode with each other draws attention. Moreover, we did not get a little Fight Club air while watching the series.
Generally speaking, you can ask “When was the last time I was happy?” Uysallar aims to be a series that will make you say. We can easily say that even looking at the first episode, both with the cast and the storytelling, it is promising in this regard. We will see this production on Netflix on March 30, where we will see plenty of characters breaking the chains brought by society.

What is the subject of Uysallar?
Uysallar, who is the name of the upper middle class architect Oktay Uysal and his extended family, set in the undiscovered streets of Istanbul with crooked urban transformation in 2020, and the residences of the plaza that continues to rise. It is a story of questioning and awakening. The Uysal family may seem like an ideal family, but they each have double lives that they hide from each other.
While family members live the lives they dream of, unaware of each other, we meet their tragic, funny and dark sides. Uysallar presents an alternative family story to the audience with the unidentified city visual of Istanbul in the background, while at the same time “When was the last time I was happy?” he will ask.
As we said, we basically took a Fight Club vibe from the show, although there are obvious differences.
