Our star, the Sun, which makes life possible with its energy, has hosted many awe-inspiring scenery with its enormous energy. Today, a new one has been added to these.
The ‘Solar Orbiter’ spacecraft, which the European Space Agency sent into space in 2020, observed a snake-like movement on the Sun. These snakes were actually lower temperature atmospheric gases moving in the Sun’s magnetic field.
The ‘snake’ on the sun:
The video we see above was created by combining the photos obtained during the 3-hour observations on September 5. The European Space Agency shared that the current, which looks like a ‘snake’, moves at a speed of 170 kilometers per second.
In the later seconds of the video, we can also see the results of the current. Large explosions can be seen at the point where the current originates and arrives. These explosions were what are called the “Trussphere mass ejection”. As a result of these explosions, large amounts of plasma are thrown into space. A very violent plasma explosion that reaches the Earth can have a negative effect, especially on our technological devices.
