Facebook announced that its users can now create multiple personal profiles, each with its own Feed that can be switched between without having to log in. Let’s take a look at the details together.
A great opportunity to create family, friends and professional profiles on Facebook
This new feature is very useful for those who want to separate the different hobbies they want to pursue and share them with their friends and family. Moreover, it is very simple to do.
A username can be obtained for up to four additional personal profiles. Once connected to selected people or communities, each profile has a Feed with relevant content and common interests. Finally, it is possible to easily switch between profiles without having to log in.
It also makes sense to keep personal and professional profiles separate, as well as keeping one profile tied to a community and the other for friends only. The new feature comes with the ability to organize who you share with and what content you see in each of your profiles’ Feeds.
The ability to create multiple personal profiles is rolling out globally today and will continue over the next few months, Facebook says, so if you don’t see it when you log in to Facebook you’ll be wondering ‘where is it?’ Don’t say.
It should also be noted that some Facebook features such as Dating, Marketplace, Pro Mode and payments will not be available for additional personal profiles initially. However, you will be able to use messaging within the Facebook app for additional personal profiles.
Facebook says it will expand Messenger support for additional profiles in the coming months. Let’s also say that the additional personal profile option will only be available for eligible adult accounts. What are you thinking? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
