Information Technologies and Communications Authority has implemented a new application with the amendment published in the Official Gazette. The regulation, which came into force with the Regulation on the Amendment of Number Portability Regulation, is important for citizens who will carry numbers. With the regulation, the process of obtaining information about the line change process of the citizens will be improved.
According to the regulation in the Official Gazette, the information that an application has been made for the porting of a number will then be sent as an SMS to the phone number subject to the porting. This process will be done by the operator to which the line will be moved. Thus, the citizen will have more information about the process of transferring his number.
The regulation in the Official Gazette is as follows
“(1) Number porting, together with the subscriber’s number porting request, in writing to the buyer operator to which he wishes to become a subscriber, It starts by calling customer service, applying via the internet or by other means to be determined by the Institution. Number portability cannot be initiated for the said subscriber without the subscriber’s request in this regard. The subscriber fills in the number to be ported, identity information, donor operator information, contact information and preferred transportation time. notifies the receiving operator with a form and concludes a subscription agreement with the said operator, effective as of the realization of the transfer. With the said application, the subscriber is deemed to have approved the information required for the number porting process and the execution of this transaction by the receiving operator on his behalf. , information that the transport request has been received i is forwarded to the number requested to be carried by the receiving operator via short message. The receiving operator is obliged to receive the signed request form regarding the porting of the subscriber’s number, other information and documents related to the identity information, and to send the copies of the said information and documents to the number portability system in electronic environment to be sent to the donor operator. In cases where the identity verification is done electronically in accordance with the Regulation on the Applicant’s Identity Verification Process in the Electronic Communications Sector, only the transaction document is sent to the donor operator via the number portability system.”
