Recently, it has become fashionable among game companies that old games come to new generation consoles in the form of remakes. The last company to keep up with this fashion seems to be the Japanese company SEGA. Initial claims say SEGA is developing a remake of Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio.
According to a new Bloomberg report by Takashi Mochizuki, SEGA is re-developing two of its legendary games to keep up with the next generation consoles. Here’s what we know about the Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio remake.
How will Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi remake be? Surprising claims
SEGA may be planning to re-release two of its classic titles. Takashi Mochizuki, who leaked the plans of the Japanese company, claimed that new Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi games are currently in development.
Rumors have it that these high-budget new game projects are part of the SEGA Super Game project and are in the early stages of development. Mochizuki stated that the Crazy Taxi remake has been in development for at least a year and could debut in 2024 or 2025.
However, it should not be overlooked that there is a possibility that SEGA may cancel projects at any time and move on to another project.
The Bloomberg report also discussed SEGA’s plans to develop free-to-play games across different platforms. The Japanese company wants a version that focuses on multiplayer experiences and events, similar to the Fortnite model. However, it is still unclear how Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi will adapt to the Fortnite model.
Finally, the report also mentions another Super Game project that is currently in development. Although it is reported that a new first-person shooter game is being made by the company’s European studio, the details are not clear.
