Unfortunately, the increasing popularity of mobile devices brings security problems with it. Malicious developers using security vulnerabilities in devices are using this situation for their own benefit. A new security threat to mobile devices affects tens of thousands of users worldwide. Here are the details

That app is spying on your mobile device!

According to the transferred information, Spyhide, a mobile spyware developed in Iran, has become a serious problem by affecting more than 60 thousand devices since 2016. Spyhide, also known as stalkerware or spouseware, is usually secretly placed on the victim’s phone by another person. Since the app was developed to stay hidden on the victim’s phone’s home screen, it’s very difficult to detect and remove. Once installed, the app silently and continuously records the phone book, messages, photos, call logs and location.

The vulnerability created by these applications, unfortunately, is not limited to this. Virtual servers where user data is stored are hijacked by third parties, allowing sensitive data to be leaked to wider audiences. According to the findings, the data includes detailed records of tens of thousands of mobile devices. These logs include years of call logs, text messages, and precise location history. There’s also information about when each file was captured and uploaded, when searches were recorded, and how long it took.

Android spyware apps are often disguised as a normal-looking mobile app or service, so these apps can be hard to find. Even if these apps are hidden on the home screen, they can be easily detected and disabled via device settings.

So, what do you think about the application in question? Have you faced a similar situation before? You can share your views and experiences with us in the comments section.
