The fight between the FTC and Microsoft may be over, but the leaks are not. In a new wave of leaked lawsuits, Microsoft’s new Xbox hardware plans have been revealed. One of these points to a new disc-less Xbox One

It will be another five years before Microsoft launches the next-generation Xbox, but a new Xbox Series X model could arrive sooner, according to leaked documents. Judging by leaked court documents, the company may be working on an undisclosed Xbox Series X codenamed Brooklin.

The new Xbox Series It will come with 2 TB of storage. According to court documents, the Brooklin will use 15% less power than the current Xbox Series X and will feature a new low-power standby mode that uses 20% less power than the current console’s standby mode.

New Xbox controller is also coming

The shape of the controller, codenamed Sebile, looks the same as the Xbox Series X generation. However, the bottom half of this version is covered in a material that looks more comfortable to hold, and the top half retains the same plastic coating that fans have come to expect from Xbox controllers. The location of the share button in the middle changes slightly.

As the document shows, the biggest additions are on the inside of the device. The Sebile has “sensitive haptic feedback” drivers as opposed to the current shake functionality. These VCA haptic drivers can also act as speakers. Quieter buttons/control sticks will also be part of this system, as will an accelerometer.

Haptic features for more immersive gaming experiences were one of the most appealing features of Sony’s PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers. If Microsoft is also stepping into this technology, it can be predicted that we will see many more games supporting improved vibration technology.

It is also stated that the Sebile Xbox controller will come with Xbox Wireless 2, Direct-to-Cloud (possibly similar to the Stadia controller) and Bluetooth 5.2 support. The removable battery compartment also returns to the control stick. A new Raise to Wake feature and modular thumbsticks are also mentioned, and these new modular sticks are expected to offer a cheaper solution to the analog stick drift issue.

Documents show that Sebile will be available alongside the new Xbox Series X|S versions expected to be released next year. While the control handle will also be available separately, various special and limited editions are also planned to be offered.
