The YouTube Android app has finally gained the podcast feature. The YouTube app on your Android phone will now gain a new dedicated podcast tab on channel pages. In addition, this feature is not only available on Android phones, but also in web applications.
Channel pages now have a new “Podcasts” tab located between the “Live” and “Playlist” tabs. As 9To5Google reports, Google has shared that the feature is now live globally. Tap this YouTube Podcasts tab and you’ll be greeted with playlists marked as podcasts by the creator.
This tab eliminates the need to search by name or navigate to the Playlist tab, which doesn’t specify podcasts separately. The new podcasts tab in the YouTube Android and web app will encourage YouTube creators to upload episodes as videos, as well as divide a large number of podcasts that are already available into one easy-to-access tab.
Only content marked as podcasts will appear on YouTube Music. However, YouTube Music podcast support is still in the testing phase and currently has limited access. While some users reportedly got this feature last Wednesday, not many users can use this feature yet.
