If you are looking for an e-mail option different from the usual Gmail and Microsoft Outlook options, Vivaldi’s new service may please you. The browser manufacturer has announced the release of Vivaldi Mail 1.0, an email client built right in your browser, very similar to its famous competitors.
The company is trying to help its new version stand out from the crowd with a number of features it hopes will appeal to both individual and corporate customers. Vivaldi CEO Jon von Tetzchner explained, “Vivaldi Mail is a tribute to the original, simple and reliable form of communication. We hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoyed creating it for you.” It can be messy, but Vivaldi Mail is the partner you need to get the job done – keeping your mail organized and easy to navigate.”
The company says it designed Vivaldi Mail, which is now available on Windows, Mac and Linux computers, around “speed, elegance and … customization” and wants to give users the chance to do the service themselves. This design includes Vivaldi Calendar and Vivaldi Feed Reader, which allows you to deal with your programs, to-do lists, news feeds and e-mails from one place.
Users can consolidate all their email accounts, including Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo Mail, to manage them from within Vivaldi Mail, and then sort and search there to help find messages quickly. Also, Vivaldi seems to offer a variety of customization options for folders and views, along with the option to automatically place mails in different views. In other words, you will be able to adjust your folders and general appearance according to your wishes.
Different views can be toggled via buttons and a search bar at the top, and there are seven central options: Show Read, Show Private Folders, Show Mailing Lists, Show Broadcasts, Show Junk, Show Archive, and Show Trash. While all are enabled by default, users can toggle certain selections on or off.
New users can now access the service by downloading the Vivaldi browser, and existing users can enable new features by clicking Settings > General > Productivity features > Enable Mail, Calendar and Streams.
