A new problem was discovered in the PS5 and PS5 Pro: when you activate this setting, the games start to kick!

In some PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro games, the variable renewal face (VRR) was activated and when the square face is opened, it was found that there were kicks that affect the gameplay significantly.

Games that have been unintentionally when Vrr is open:

Compared to the examination of Digital Foundry, after playing for a while (about 20-30 minutes), the following games occur every eight seconds:

  • The Last of Us Part 1
  • The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered
  • Diablo IV
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Ring
  • Resident Evil 4
  • Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
  • Metaphor: Refantazio
  • Kingdom Come Deliverance II

In the tests, this problem took place just on PlayStation consoles, and the tests in the Xbox Series X did not have any problems. It was also confirmed that the tests were performed on different TV models and the problem was not caused by TV.

More interestingly, this problem did not occur in a number of games during the test process. The games where there is no problem are as follows:

  • God of War Ragnarok
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Immortals of aveum
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2

Another point that attracts attention is that although some games use the same game engine, it shows different results. For example, Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Resident Evil 4 uses Capcom’s Re Egine engine, but only Resident Evil 4 is experiencing VRR unites.

So how to solve this problem?

In Digital Foundry’s tests, the players have been observed to have been observed that the stuck when they switched to another source of entry (eg PC) and returned to the PS5, but this is not a definite analysis.

It is a question of whether Sony or game developers will present an official correction to this issue.
