WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging applications in the world, is preparing to activate another feature that its users have been waiting for a long time. With the new feature, users who are not in your contact list will be prevented from seeing your last seen easily.
Last seen will be available to people by default
Finally, WhatsApp, which recently started testing a feature that allows you to hide the Last Seen feature from certain people and a few innovations in timed messages, has now decided to make it more difficult for people who are not in your contacts to follow your last seen.
WABetaInfo, sharing information about the beta versions of the famous messaging application, announced that WhatsApp will choose the last appearance feature of WhatsApp as ‘My Contacts’ by default in the new period. Thus, if you do not choose who will follow your last seen by going into the settings, this will be available only to your contacts by default. On the other hand, if you want to open your last seen to everyone, it will not be prevented – for now.
It is thought that the reason for WhatsApp to work on this innovation is third-party applications that monitor people’s WhatsApp usage habits. It is stated that rival companies to WhatsApp also benefit from the fact that the last seen feature is public by default.
For now, WhatsApp has not prevented users from making their last seen public available. On the other hand, the application, which takes very careful steps in privacy, may allow you to open your last seen only to your contacts in the near future. In this sense, it will be necessary to follow what kind of innovations will be made in the upcoming beta versions.
