A few months ago, we saw news that Galaxy S20 screens suddenly stopped working for no known reason, forcing customers to replace their screens, and this issue was fixed under warranty.
And now, the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra have again reported a screen issue (via Android Police). Some users complain that a green or pink line appears on the screen. For some, this appeared after a recent update but there are also reports that the issue started appearing a few months ago. So it is possible that the problem is not at the software level.
While it’s not easy to make sure that devices with these issues have not been dropped or used abnormally, the Galaxy S20 series seems to have particularly problematic displays. In fact, it is known that the Galaxy S20 series can experience screen problems right out of the box. Many users encountered a green tint on their phones’ screens in 2020, but Samsung was able to fix it with software updates.
Now that it’s been a little over two years since the Galaxy S20 series went on sale, fixing this particular screen issue will likely require the customer to pay out of pocket to get the repair done. If the problem is widespread, Samsung can provide a free repair, but the company has not yet officially acknowledged the problem.
This problem appears to be a hardware issue and Samsung needs to repair your Galaxy S20 if your device is under warranty. If not, you may do nothing and have to pay yourself to repair your Samsung S20 for free.
