We hear stories from time to time that the Apple Watch has saved a user’s life. Packed with sensors, the wearable can detect various trend changes in your body while you wear it. According to a new report, Apple Watch Series 7 saved another person’s life by preventing a complication from gastrointestinal bleeding.
The person who saved the life of the Apple Watch Series 7 describes the incident on reddit as follows:
“I was a little tired when I went out to lunch last week, so I lay on the couch for a quick nap after dinner. After taking a nap, I checked my watch’s notifications and saw that it was telling me 10 times that my heart rate was getting faster. I didn’t care much and thought it would improve for the rest of the day, but it didn’t stop. So I arranged a quick video call with my doctor. My doctor had me check times and pulse rates, had me check my oxygen level, and then called 911 for me.
When the emergency team arrived, they said that we had severe internal bleeding, that I had a hemoglobin value of just over 3 g/dL and that my normal value should be around 15. In fact, the emergency team initially said I might have had a heart attack, but it turned out to be internal bleeding. They said I wouldn’t have survived if the emergency team hadn’t arrived.
Thank you to the nurses, doctors, blood donors and everyone who took care of me, but if I didn’t have an Apple Watch, I would have passed out and died.”
After the user shared this entry on reddit, other reddit users made many comments. Although some said that it usually takes more than one day for the Hgb value to drop this much and they thought that bloody stools might have occurred in the previous days, they could not get an answer from the author. That makes the situation a little suspicious.
So what do you think? Do you think the Apple Watch 7 really saved the user’s life? We welcome your comments below.
