According to a report from VGC, speaking to anonymous publishing sources, publisher Konami is allegedly working on new members and remakes of its best-known series, including Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill and Castlevania.
As VGC reports, Konami underwent a restructuring earlier this year and is now focusing on reviving its biggest franchises in the premium gaming space. The first of the games Konami is working on is a new Castlevania game currently in development at Konami, allegedly a “reimagining” of the gothic action-adventure franchise.
Metal Gear Solid 3 may come to life again
VGC sources claim that the Metal Gear Solid remake is in the early stages of development but not made by Demon’s Souls developer Bluepoint Games, as previously claimed. Instead, this version is claimed to be developed by Virtuos, which has co-developed games like Horizon Zero Dawn and The Outer Worlds, and sources say it will remake Metal Gear Solid 3 instead of the original game.
However, it appears that remakes of other Metal Gear Solid games may be in development as sources say Konami plans to release remasters of the original Metal Gear Solid games for consoles prior to the release of this remake.
Rumors of a Silent Hill revival are likely to be accurate, with sources telling VGC that “multiple Silent Hill games are currently in development at various external studios.” It looks like Konami plans to showcase these productions at next year’s events.
