This week, a magnificent image was recorded with the Hubble Space Telescope, which is of great importance in space observations of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). A spiral galaxy in the constellation Aquila (Latin for ‘eagle’) is highlighted in the image.

Scientists observing to obtain more scientific data about the huge black holes in the depths of the galaxy named the galaxy ‘UGC 11537’.

Image of Spiral Galaxy Recorded

This image from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope features a side view of the majestic galaxy. Thanks to the infrared and light capabilities of Hubble’s Wide Field Camera, tightly wound spiral arms moving around the galaxy’s center have been successfully recorded. The spiral galaxy, named UGC 11537, is located 230 million light-years away in the constellation Aquila and close to the plane of the Milky Way. So close that stars in our galaxy appeared in the image.

The image was captured in an observation designed by astronomers to study supermassive black holes at the centers of distant galaxies. Professional observations of the Hubble telescope and data obtained by other telescopes have enabled astronomers to make detailed models of the mass and motion of stars in these galaxies.

The Hubble Telescope is slowly getting old as it has been in operation for more than 30 years. The James Webb Space Telescope, which will soon rival Hubble, will also be launched into space. However, NASA still plans to keep Hubble operational for a longer period of time.
