Twitch, which was founded by Justin Kan and Emmett Shear in June 2011 and continues its activities with 140 million monthly users, continues to work to maximize the user experience. Finally, the platform has started to test its new feature, which will greatly delight the viewers who missed some moments in the followed live broadcasts.

Twitch tests ‘rewind’ button

Twitch’s concept, as it is known, is based on live broadcasts. In this way, viewers can have a fun time by interacting with the broadcasters instantly. However, sometimes some moments during the live broadcast can be missed by the audience. We can say that this situation is quite annoying.

Twitch has started testing the “rewind” feature to solve this annoying situation that users are experiencing. In this way, the moments missed during the live broadcast can be reviewed with the rewind button, and even the content in question can be watched at different speeds as in other Twitch VODs.

When the rewind button is clicked, the said live broadcast can be taken for two minutes, and at this point, the picture-in-picture window logic will be adopted so that the viewer does not miss the ongoing live broadcast. In this way, users will be able to watch the missed moments with the rewind button, as well as follow the ongoing live broadcast.

It will be able to work if the rewind feature is activated by the followed publisher. Twitch will make this feature available to about a quarter of users in the coming days for testing purposes.

In addition, the platform is working on two new features, “Remind Me” and “Watch Trailer”. The first serves as a reminder for upcoming live broadcasts, while the second allows broadcasters to watch channel trailers.
