WhatsApp is working on a bunch of new features to expand the feature list and make the app more attractive for users. Most of these features focus mainly on group chats. New features include allowing group admins to delete messages for everyone, and more.

According to WABetaInfo, the latest feature discovered in the latest beta version lets WhatsApp users know who left the group or who was removed by the admin. This will eliminate the need to ask group members who, how or why they left the group. This WhatsApp feature will be available for both group members and admins.

This new WhatsApp group feature can be accessed from the list of existing participants in the “Group Information” tab. Here you will see a new option with the heading “See Past Participants”. This section will contain the names of the removed members. There will even be a dedicated search bar to find a specific person in a group with a large number of members.

However, while introducing this feature, the existing system of notifying everyone in the chat when a member leaves or is removed from the group is also being removed. Only admins receive in-chat messages when someone leaves or is removed from the group. All those who left or were removed from the group will now only be visible in the “See Past Participants” list.

This feature was spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta version 22.16.0.75 on iPhone, but is expected to come to Android soon as well. In addition, due to the cross-platform nature of the application, it can be predicted that this new WhatsApp group feature will come to the desktop application in the future.

It is also testing a feature on WhatsApp for Android that lets you choose who can see your online status.
