e-Government, which has been carrying services aimed at facilitating the lives of citizens to the virtual realm for more than 15 years, has launched a new service. The platform, which allows you to handle many transactions to be made through state-affiliated institutions and organizations, on the phone or computer without going to the necessary places, has more than 55 million users as of July.

A new service was launched in e-Government, which includes 803 public institutions and organizations. There will now be a “Birth Notification Application” section on the state portal, where you can handle many transactions from Inquiry to Sub-parent Ancestry Information to Tax Debt Inquiry with a few clicks.

e-Government launched the Birth Notification Application service

In our country, where the fertility rate is higher than in the west, 1 million 112 thousand 859 babies were born in 2020. These babies, who were citizens of the Republic of Turkey, were registered in the system and their identity cards were issued when one of their families went to the Population Directorate. While the e-Birth application was launched in 2018 to facilitate this situation, at the end of three years, a step came from e-Government.

Thanks to the e-Birth system, birth notifications of children born in public health institutions and named by their parents could be made directly from the hospital. Thus, there was no need to go to the Census Bureau. The “Birth Notification Application”, which is opened via e-Government, enables the application for an ID card over the phone.

Parents, who will be able to apply for a birth notification within 30 days after the birth, will be able to save the child’s name, religion and the necessary information of the person who will receive the Republic of Turkey Identity Card via e-Government and confirm it with an electronic signature.

This application sent to MERNIS will be examined in the population office closest to the parents’ residence address. If there is no violation of the legislation, the birth event will be registered and the child’s identity card will be sent to the given address. If a problem is detected, the applicant will be asked to apply to the population directorate.

So what do you think about the new service of e-Government? Do you think this system can make life easier for prospective parents? You can specify in the comments…
