“Are you two there? We are here looking for you”

The research in question was carried out in the Bulak (Mencilis) Cave, which is the 4th largest cave of our country, located in Safranbolu, which is mostly known for its historical houses. The research team of 4 people aimed to reveal the natural beauties and mysterious world of the underground in the work they carried out here.

For this, a journey that took 10 hours in total was made. In this journey, a difficult progress was made about 650 meters below the surface. While the descents, climbs, hikes, and more made the journey somewhat difficult, a note below showed it was definitely worth it.

Cemil Belder, who photographed the note and took it to a calligrapher, said, “Are you two there? We are here looking for you. He learned that he wrote “Feyzi – İzzet”. The aforementioned note, dating from 1845, was written on the wall at the 2,150th meter of the cave, in Arabic letters. Belder also stated that he was puzzled about how the people who wrote the note got here.
