Assassin’s Creed, which has now become a cult in the gaming world, continues to live with its old games as well as the games it adds to the series. However, the situation noticed by a user seems to have made the players a little angry.
Ubisoft puts ads in Assassin’s Creed games
A user noticed an interesting situation while playing the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey game, released in 2018. While the user wanted to check the memories in the game, he came across an Assassin’s Creed advertising visual.
When the player clicked on the menu, he saw an advertisement for the Black Friday offer of the Assassin’s Creed Mirage game. It is stated that in this incident, which many users later reported, the ad was closed manually. A similar situation was seen in Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.
On the other hand, the company took the first step regarding the situation. In the statement made to Rock Paper Shotgun, it was stated that the incident was a mistake made with good intentions. The following statements were made in the statement:
Unfortunately, this technical error caused the promotion to appear in one of our in-game menus. Our goal was to showcase a trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage as part of series news in the main menu of other Assassin’s Creed games. We want to provide the best possible player experience and these annoying pop-ups were removed immediately when we learned of the issue. We appreciate your understanding while we investigate the cause of the issue.
On the other hand, Ubisoft announced that it broke the sales record with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which was the subject of advertisements recently. According to the company’s statement, Mirage became the best-selling title on the new generation consoles (Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5) compared to the day it was released.
