Vojin Kusic, who lives in the Srbac region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, built a house that can rotate 360 degrees to please his wife, who is bored with her house and wants to see different landscapes.
The house, whose construction was completed in 6 years, is connected to a rotating mechanism on an axis and can rotate around its own axis at the desired speed from 22 seconds to 24 hours. The man who built the house completely alone said that he decided to build such a house when he was overwhelmed by the wishes of his wife.
“I was tired of my wife’s nagging”
Vojin Kusic, 72, explained how the idea for this house came about, saying, “I’m tired of my wife’s frequent complaints and the fact that she keeps redecorating the house, and I said, ‘I’ll make a house that turns to you, you can turn it in any direction you want.'” Kusic’s wife did not make any comments about the house.
As for the technical features of the house, it can complete a full turn at the slowest speed in 24 hours, and at the fastest time in 22 seconds. It is connected to a rotating mechanism on a 7-meter axis. Kusic built the entire house himself, including the special mechanism that makes the house spin. Although he had a heart problem during the construction of the house, he managed to complete the house in 6 years. He also argued that this house is more resistant to earthquakes than fixed structures.
Vojin Kusic stated that he took the example of American inventor Nikola Tesla. Kusic, who grew up in a poor family where he did not have the opportunity to get a good education, explained that he had to learn to produce some things on his own. He emphasized that this house was not an invention, it was created only by desire and knowledge. “I had enough time and knowledge, I did it,” he said.
