Twitter ignored the warning
The California Property Trust, owner of the building where Twitter’s headquarters is located, warned Twitter on December 16 that if the rent is not paid within five days, it will default on the lease for the 30th floor of the Hartford building at 650 California Street in San Francisco. The California Property Trust said in a complaint to the San Francisco County Supreme Court this week that Twitter ignored that warning.
Rents not paid for a while
In recent weeks, Twitter has not paid the rent for all of its global offices to save costs. The company is also sued for failing to pay close to $200,000 for the charter flights Musk made in his first week on Twitter. Elon Musk is said to have brought in more than half a regular lawyer from SpaceX to support Twitter’s legal arm.
Musk administration continues
Since taking over Twitter in early 2022, Musk has made a number of changes in addition to cost-cutting measures, including laying off half the workforce and ending the enforcement of Covid-19 misinformation rules. Saying that he will leave the CEO seat in the near future and sharing a survey in this direction, Musk is still at the head of Twitter and continues to make sound decisions.
