Popular messaging app WhatsApp is getting a number of new features for groups. Chief among these features is group admins gaining more control. With the feature currently in testing, group admins will have the right to delete a message sent by another participant.
Group admin can delete any message on WhatsApp
WhatsApp uses innovations from time to time to increase the user experience. The new features that started to be tested in WhatsApp beta v2.22.17.12 for Android will make WhatsApp groups more functional.
The new version shared by WABetaInfo revealed that more than one innovation will come to WhatsApp. The main purpose of the platform in the new update is to enable administrators to have more control in groups.
As part of the new WhatsApp feature, deleting a message by the group administrator will be shown to all participants. In the screenshot of the beta-stage feature, it says “As an administrator, you deleted this message”. Other participants see the deleted message as “The administrator has deleted this message”.
Another innovation that the platform is working on was the WhatsApp chat bot. This bot will share the innovations brought to the application with the users. In this way, users will be instantly informed about new features.
Although the new features are being tested in WhatsApp beta v2.22.17.12 for Android, we think they will be rolled out to all users soon. It is unclear for now whether a similar beta is prepared for iOS users.
