Android, instead of categorizing the notification content by scanning the content, it will summarize the messages marked by the application developers as “chat notification”. For this reason, it was stated that the system can only summarize notifications on transmission applications. The summarizing process will be performed by the Android System Intelligence application in the device and Google’s Gemini Nano will be used. It is said that keeping the data on the device provides an advantage in terms of implication, while the lack of access to more advanced artificial intelligence models may affect the accuracy rate of the summary. It was shared that if the notification did not offer sufficient context at one -to -one time, wrong or missing summarys may occur.

For now, it is not clear whether the feature will be included in the stable version of Android 16. Google’s feature is said to be available with advancing updates or directly with Android 17 versions. Users will have to wait for a while to see if Apple’s issues will be repeated.
