The market cap of cryptocurrencies exceeding $2 trillion has caused governments around the world to show more and more interest in the crypto space. For example, a school in Dubai has taken steps to bring them into the education sector.
Arabian Business reported March 28, Citizens School, which will officially launch in September 2022, is the first school in the Middle East to accept tuition payments in Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). . The school will accept payments through integration with a digital platform that automatically converts cryptocurrency to United Arab Emirates dirhams (AED).
This move comes after the Government of Dubai passed the first law regulating digital assets with the aim of promoting the growth of the industry by providing investors with a secure and advanced legal framework.
Citizens School founder Dr. Adil Alzarooni commented on the educational institution’s decision to start accepting cryptocurrencies:
For him, the transition to crypto is part of educating children to “become entrepreneurs and investors of tomorrow” as more people embrace the age of digitization.
