Samsung may be planning to launch a cheaper version of the Galaxy S21 FE this summer. A new S21 FE variant has been listed by several online shops in Europe and it looks like a surprising hardware change.
First noticed by Galaxy Club, this mysterious Galaxy S21 FE variant has Snapdragon 720G chipset inside its case instead of Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100.
These details were also confirmed by two separate European stores, IRelation and Technet. So, we can say that the probability of the same typo being made by two different online stores seems slim.
Other details cited by both sources include a 6.4-inch FHD+ display, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, a triple camera setup consisting of two 12MP shooters and an 8MP sensor, a 32MP selfie camera and a 4,500mAh battery.
So this device could be described as a standard Galaxy S21 FE except for the chipset with slightly less power and a step back from 5G to LTE connectivity . However, some sources also say that the upcoming S21 FE version has 5G, and we can say that this is strange given the limitations of the chipset.
As a result, this refurbished Galaxy S21 FE will be launched at a lower price than the current model if it becomes a reality. E-shops expect the phone to be in stock on June 30.
Unlike the current Galaxy S21 FE with the model number SM-G990B in Europe and other markets, the upcoming S21 FE is also claimed to have the model number SM-G990B2. The Bluetooth certification page directly associates this model number with the Galaxy S21 FE name. It also confirms the existence of Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity
