Apple’s emojis include a glasses-wearing, toothy and cute emoji. Teddy, a 10-year-old boy living in Oxfordshire, started a petition to change Apple’s emoji, calling it “aggressive and insulting”. The child even designed an alternative emoji.

Teddy says current emoji are “aggressive and insulting” and wants his own emoji to be used

The emoji in question is often referred to as the nerd or “nerd” emoji. This emoji’s glasses have thick frames and a toothy structure. While Teddy said that people who wear glasses are thought to be “nerdy and toothy” because of this emoji, “We want this to change. Apple makes everything scary for people with glasses.” he said.

Teddy added: “This situation makes me very sad. If I find this aggressive, then thousands of people around the world also find it aggressive.” While continuing, he did not hesitate to display the alternative emoji he designed himself. In Teddy’s version, it was seen that the glasses frames of the emoji became thinner and there was a smile on the mouth.

The little activist’s signature campaign started after she saw the emoji while texting with her cousin. Then, with the guidance of her teacher Lisa, she turned her situation into a signature campaign. Teacher Lisa says of Teddy, “I love his questioning mindset and he fights for what he believes is right.” He uses the expressions. Teddy says he would be very happy if Apple took his ideas seriously.
