Google officially introduced Android 13: Here’s what’s new
They pose a security risk
The main criterion is the absence of application updates in the last two years. The main reason why both companies are waging war on apps that haven’t been updated for a long time is for security reasons. Older apps can’t keep up with the latest Android and iOS updates, and they don’t take into account new APIs and development methods that provide better security.
Therefore, apps that haven’t been updated for a long time are believed to be not as secure as new ones. Apple and Google will not be able to delete those apps from your phone if they are already downloaded to your device. Therefore, it will be in your best interest to check when the applications on your device were last updated, against any security risks.
