Twitter, one of the world’s largest social media platforms, has been at the top of the world’s agenda lately. As it is known, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Musk announced in the past weeks that he will buy the platform for an astronomical fee of $ 44 billion. After that, there were many news about the future of the company.

In the news, it was stated that Elon Musk has a name in mind for his CEO position, and Parag Agrawal, who replaced Jack Dorsey in the past months, will continue his duty until the acquisition is completed. In addition, rumors were circulating that Musk’s arrival caused unease among employees. While the discussions about the future of Twitter continue, there have been important developments in the company now.

CEO Parag Agrawal fired two executives

According to the statements, Twitter’s senior management positions are experiencing turmoil. The company’s Product and Design Manager, Keyvon Beykpour, stated that he was asked to quit his job with a post he made on his official account. In his statements regarding this, Beykpour stated that CEO Parag Agrawal made this request: “I am leaving the company after seven years. Parag asked me to leave because he wanted to take a different team in a different direction. I didn’t think my departure would be like this.”

It was also stated in the statements that the company’s Vice President of Consumer Products, Jay Sullivan, will take the position of Beykpour. In addition, it was stated that Bruce Falck, General Manager of Product Revenues of the company, was dismissed by Parag Agrawal, and Jay Sullivan was brought to his place temporarily, just like in the other position.

Recruitments stopped

Additionally, it was stated that Agrawal gave the new news by sending an e-mail to the employees. In this email, reached by The Verge, Agrawal was seen thanking them by announcing the dismissal of Beykpour and Falck. Also, referring to the recent changes in the company, the 37-year-old CEO stated that these decisions were made to strengthen the platform.

Agrawal also shared in his e-mail that hiring (except for important positions) has been stopped and some expenses (non-business-related such as travel, events, real estate) have been reduced. Finally, stating that there are no plans for more layoffs at the moment, the CEO added that leaders can make changes to increase efficiency when necessary, and stated that Twitter will continue to serve its purpose, even if there are changes.
