After introducing Pixel C in 2015, Google stopped making Android tablets and announced the ChromeOS-based Pixel Slate tablet in 2018. Both tablets were disliked, and Google withdrew from the tablet market. However, Google is returning to the Android tablet market after many years.
Pixel tablet will arrive in 2023
Rick Osterloh from Google stated that the Pixel tablet will be a perfect match for the Pixel smartphone, and the device will bridge the home life and the outside life. No price or feature information was given about the device, but the first images of the device were shared on Twitter.
The shared short video shows that the device could be the aforementioned Nest Hub tablet. The device definitely gives off a portable Nest Hub feel, with its white bezel and pins on the back. If the Nest Hub tablet claims are true, the Pixel tablet will turn into a smart display by connecting to a charging station containing a speaker with pins on the back. Google has been stating that it has increased its interest in Android tablets for a while. Making serious improvements to large screens with Android 12L and Android 13, Google seems to be seriously busy with the Pixel tablet. More information will come with the Pixel tablet in the coming months.
