Google today held the I/O 2022 event that we have been waiting for for a long time. At the event, where many innovations in both hardware and software were introduced, the new operating system Android 13 was one of the most curious ones, along with Google’s first smart watch Pixel Watch and its new headset Pixel Buds Pro.
It was expected and Android 13 was finally introduced at the event. In the promotion, where many innovations and features of Android 13 were shared, the most important emphasis on the new operating system was security and ‘personalization’. Let’s take a look at all the innovations of the system introduced with the name ‘Tiramisu’.
Android 13 will be much more secure and ‘customized’
Android 13 will come with ‘Material You’ and will give users much more customization of their phones . Material You, which will come as themes arranged with different options, will offer editable color options and can be used in applications such as third-party applications and media players.
Your phone’s wallpaper and theme colors can be matched and controlled. Similarly, in media players, the colors of content such as album covers will be matched and used instantly on the lock screen. It will work similarly for icons of compatible apps.
In addition, Android 13 will appear as a renewed and more secure operating system. Similar to the system we’ve seen on iOS before, Android 13 will be more transparent and controllable about what apps can access.
With this new security system, apps will even ask for permission to send notifications; You will also be given the option to access specified and restricted data instead of accessing the entire gallery and media. In line with these innovations and improvements, a new Security and Privacy Settings page will be added to the menu.
End-to-end encrypted messaging, fast match and more
With Android 13, users now support Google’s new end-to-end encrypted messaging instead of almost obsolete SMS will be able to use the Google Messages application that comes with it. In addition, Android devices will be able to take advantage of the ‘quick match’ feature when pairing with other devices with Android 13.
Another innovation is the possibility to select a specific language for each application with Android 13. In this way, users will be able to select individual languages specifically for the applications installed on their phones through the operating system. In addition, Android 13 will come with Google Wallet, but our country is not yet in the list of countries where this feature will be available.
This is what we know about the innovations and features that Android 13 will bring for now; It should also be noted that the second beta version of the operating system was released today. What do you think about the new Android 13? Don’t forget to share your comments with us!
