Electronic Arts (EA) announced its earnings report for the fourth fiscal quarter ended March 31. EA Games’ battle royale game Apex Legends managed to overtake its rivals with record-breaking earnings. It was stated that Apex Legends, which was presented in 2019, has earned $ 2 billion in revenue to date.
According to EA’s new statement, net income for fiscal 2022 increased by 21 percent year-on-year to $7.515 billion. Drawing attention to Apex Legends and FIFA, EA executives discussed the investments to be made in online games.
Apex Legends marked EA revenues with $2 billion
Apex Legends, one of the most popular productions of the battle royale world, managed to make EA Games smile. According to the latest figures, the game has seen a more than 40 percent increase in revenue over the year, surpassing the $2 billion milestone.
Describing the last season of Apex Legend as the most successful period ever, EA Games also confirmed the mobile future of the three-year-old battle royale game. Saying that the tests carried out for the Apex Legends mobile game were successful, EA stated that it will be offered to players soon (within this month).
Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson said they had a record year in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2022, with hundreds of millions of players participating:
“Around strong network made by incredibly talented teams. With amazing games built and outstanding engagement in our online services, fiscal 2023 will be a year of innovation and growth for Electronic Arts.”
In addition to Apex Legends, FIFA 22 also laughed. FIFA 22 sales were in the “double digits” resulting in it being the most successful FIFA game to date. However, let us remind you that after a tension between EA and FIFA, dramatic changes will be made about the series.
