The months of tense negotiations between Electronic Arts and football’s global governing body FIFA have turned out to be negative. The partnership between FIFA and EA, an adventure of almost 30 years, has officially ended today. So what will the name of the new game be?

The agreement between EA and FIFA was to expire after the World Cup to be held in Qatar this year. But adjustments have been made to extend it to the Women’s World Cup next summer.
Company officials, on the other hand, said that at the end of summer, when the Women’s World Cup ends, more than 150 million FIFA players will say goodbye to the series. The name of the new game to be replaced by FIFA 23 will be EA Sports FC (EA Sports Football Club).
The game itself won’t change much. So basically everything will be the same except the name. But the World Cup and other events controlled by FIFA will no longer be included. However, since the agreements with world-famous clubs, stars, other teams and leagues will continue, it is said that there will be no problems in this regard.
However, if we look at the overall total, the cooperation between FIFA and EA Sports has been quite profitable for both parties. So much so that in the last 20 years, they have achieved a sales success of more than 20 billion dollars. On the other hand, the biggest reason for the termination of the agreement was again money. Because FIFA said that it wanted at least twice the $ 15 million it receives annually from EA.
But this isn’t really all bad news for gamers. Because EA Sports will continue to use the EA game engine. Also, the deals are still going on. For this reason, we will really feel that there is only one name change. But we can see its large-scale effects in the coming years. For example, if FIFA agrees with KONAMI and transfers the naming rights to them, there may be a real shock.
